SRINAGAR: BJP national vice-president Ram Madhav on Tuesday said the National Conference (NC) was facing visible internal divisions, but asserted that the BJP had no involvement in the developments within the ruling party.
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Madhav said Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi was holding his rally with the blessings of “our people”. However, he maintained that the NC’s internal differences were an issue for the party itself.
He also said statements made by BJP legislators on the matter should not necessarily be treated as the official position of the party.
Madhav’s remarks came hours after Ruhullah announced his decision to quit the NC during a rally in Budgam, accusing the party leadership of failing to honour key promises made during the Assembly elections.
