After CM Mehbooba Mufti Friday evening termed the National Institute of Technology (NIT) row a “non-issue”, right wing BJP men have started their journey from New Delhi to Srinagar.

Reports reaching here said that around 150 students from different parts of India led by BJP national secretary R P Singh on Saturday embarked on their journey from Delhi to Srinagar to “show solidarity with the outstation students” studying in Valley premiere engineering college.

The 150 BJP activists are holding the Indian flag. They are from 12 states and had assembled in Delhi for ‘Chalo NIT’ march on bikes and cars.

Ms Mufti described the NIT issue being highlighted by certain people as a “communal incident”.
