Fearing agitation in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have continued the curfew in the district on second consecutive day today following the killing of BJP leader and his brother on Thursday late evening.

BJP state secretary Anil Parihar, 52, and his brother Ajeet parihar were returning home from a shop when they were fired upon from close range at a dark in Tapal Gali Mohalla of Kishtwar town which falls in Jammu region.

following the killing, the area remained under the curfew and next day the prohibitory orders were extended in Doda district in Chenab valley, while as army’s 4 Rashtriya Rifles conducted flag marches in the Bhaderwah town of the Doda district.

The killing also led telecom authorities to slow down the speed of the internet in Bhaderwah and other parts of the Chenab valley, and various political leaders of the state have offered their condolences to the bereaved family. In this regard, the special investigation team (SIT) has also been constituted.
