The Bank security guard who foiled a rifle snatching attempt a few days back in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district was bestowed with cash award by BJP legislators on Thursday.
Three unknown youth tried to snatch the service rifle of a Jammu Kashmir Bank guard, however, the Selection Grade Constable Farooq Ahmed Dar foiled their attempt.
The incident occurred inside the Jammu Kashmir Bank at Charar-e-Sharif town.
BJP legislators including the Minister for PHE Sham Lal Chowdary and Ravinder Raina visited Police Station Charar-e-Sharif and presented a cash reward of Rs 22,000 to Farooq Ahmed Dar.
The BJP leaders while appreciating his role and courage assured him that they will recommend his name for the National Award.
“I presented this cash award to the valiant constable for his bravery. I did it on personal basis,” Sham Lal Chowdary told local news CNS.
