SRINAGAR: BJP MLA Randhawa was marshalled out of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday as protests by BJP members over Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s statehood resolution continued, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the House until Monday.
The House resumed proceedings after a 30-minute adjournment, but BJP members again raised slogans against the resolution and its reference to the 2000 autonomy resolution.
During the commotion, Randhawa was marshalled out of the House while attempting to cross through the side. BJP members continued their protest, raising slogans including “Desh Ke Tukde Hum Nahi Sahege”.
They also raised the slogan, “Bijli Pani Jo De Na Saki, Woh Sarkaar Nikami Hai”, as the disruption continued.
With the uproar showing no signs of ending, the Speaker eventually adjourned the Assembly until Monday.
