BJP, a  day  ahead of the election results, hinted at opening doors of coalition with the national conference, saying NC for them are not ‘untouchables’.

“In the interests of the state, we can have a coalition with the national conference. The party is not untouchable for us. Let us see what the results would be,” BJP general secretary and in-charge JK, Rameesh Aroora told KNS.

Rejecting any alliance with the PDP, BJP said that party’s understanding would not match with the agenda of the PDP. “It Is the PDP that raises slogans of Muzafarabad challo and self rule. It even talks of dual currency. We cannot have alliance with such a party,” Aroora said.

He added that it would be pre-mature to predict any alliance as the results are yet to come. “Let us all wait for the results. We believe that with some independents if we can form the government. Also if we need, we can align with the national conference.”

Interestingly, the remarks of the BJP have come after the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a press conference on Monday said NC would not foster bonds with the BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has so far remained silent on conversions.
