SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Ravinder Raina on Friday welcomed the announcement of the assembly election schedule by the Election Commission of India.
Raina said that party leaders had been anticipating this announcement since the Lok Sabha elections and confirmed that the BJP is fully prepared for the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
“I am confident that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will support the BJP wholeheartedly in the assembly elections, and we will form our own government in JK. Over the past 10 years, the Modi government, through sustained efforts and initiatives, has fostered peace and prosperity while ushering in a new era of development by strengthening democracy in JK,” Raina said.
He added that the assembly elections would further reinforce democratic principles and pave the way for a new phase of development in JK.
The J&K BJP Chief also urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to actively participate in the election and vote in large numbers to establish a government that would maintain peace, promote development, and secure a brighter future for the younger generation in Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO).
