DODA: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Monday won chairperson and deputy chairperson posts of the District Development Council (DDC) of Doda district by nine votes.
The BJP DDC member from Bhaderwah East constituency Dhanantar Singh was elected as chairman of the first DDC of Doda district and Sangeeta Bhagata a prominent Scheduled Caste woman face of the BJP as vice chairperson.
Both candidates got nine votes out of total 14.
The BJP had eight out of 14 seats in Doda district but one unknown DDC member from opposition also casted his vote in favour of the party.
