SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday solved a blind murder case in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district with the arrest of four individuals.
According to an official statement, on August 2, the Police Post Palhallan received information about an unidentified body found beneath the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The deceased was later identified as Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag Kreeri.
“The police team, after a thorough investigation involving sustained interrogation, evidence examination, and technical data analysis, identified the four accused as Gh Mohiuddin Ganie, his wife Fatima Begum, their daughter Rubeena Bano, and their son Aadil Ahmad Ganie, all residents of Gundbal Pattan in Baramulla district,” the statement reads.
The investigation revealed that the accused had conspired to murder the victim on August 1, 2024. They strangled him with a dupatta and then disposed of the body under the bridge.
All four suspects have been arrested and are currently in police custody. The police have also recovered the dupatta used in the crime along with other critical evidence. The investigation is ongoing, according to the statement. (GNS)
