SRINAGAR: A blood donation camp was organised at Ganj Bakhsh Park, Nowhatta in Srinagar on Tuesday in connection with the 36th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA), with more than 225 units of blood collected, organisers said.

The camp was held under the aegis of the Mirwaiz Foundation in collaboration with Ujala Cygnus Amandeep Hospital. Students, volunteers, women and members of civil society participated and donated blood.
Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq visited the venue and interacted with participants. He said the participation reflected social responsibility and service associated with the legacy of Shaheed-e-Millat (RA).
He added that the response, particularly from young participants, contributed to efforts aimed at addressing blood requirements in healthcare facilities.
Organisers said more than 225 units of blood were collected during the programme. They also acknowledged the role of volunteers and medical staff in conducting the camp.
