Five unidentified militants believed to be from Pakistan who were killed in the 24-hour-long gunfight with government forces at Rafiabad forests were buried in Hamam area of the northern district of Baramulla on Thursday evening.

Official sources said that the bodies of the slain militants were buried with the help of local Auqaf committee at a graveyard in Hamam Markote village.

A police officer confirmed that all the five unidentified foreign militants were buried in the area.

The slain militants were killed in a two-day long gunfight which started on Wednesday and concluded on Thursday morning at Naldaji forests of Rafiabad.

A para commando Naresh Chander Bhutt of 9 Para also suffered injuries.
