Jammu and Kashmir Police Wednesday found a dead body in North Kashmir’s Kupwara forests while as a woman died when she jumped in a can in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district yesterday.

Reports reaching here said that a dead body of a 31-year-old man was recovered from forests in Handwara area in Kupwara district.

Locals spotted the body at Falmarg forests and immediately informed the police.

Police have conducted the post mortem of the deceased and he has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Badana, a resident of Viloo in Uri.

Reports said that the deceased had gone to meet his in-laws in Hatchmarg area of Vilgam, however, it could not be immediately known whether he reached there or not.

Body was handed over to his family. There was no torture marks found over his body, reports added.

Meanwhile, a woman in Ganderbal jumped into the power canal last evening.

She was identified as Shakeela Bano (24), wife of Fayaz Ahmad Khan of Haknar. Her found was fished out from the canal this morning.

Reports said that she jumped into the power canal of USHP 1st – couple of meters away from her residence at Mandal Mohalla in Haknar area of Gund tehsil. Shakeela had got married to Fayaz Ahmad last year.
