Body of a woman was recovered from a river in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that a police team immediately reached at Nagalishaib soon after being informed about the body lying in the area.
News agency GNS quoted SHO Poonch Nishant Gupta as having said that the police party retrieved the body from the river at Nagalishaib area today morning.
The officer identified the deceased as Shamim Akhter (42) wife of Mohd Shafiq of Dhelera.
The body has been taken to the nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities, he said.
In this connection, a case under section 174 Cr.PC was registered and further investigations initiated, he added.
