SRINAGAR: The body of a teenage boy who allegedly slipped into a flood channel in the Tengpora area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Thursday evening has been retrieved, officials informed.

Quoting officials, GNS reported that soon after the news about the falling of a youth identified as Maqsood Ahmad, a resident of Kangan Ganderbal, spread, a police team alongside locals launched a rescue operation at the site.

“Despite timely efforts, the boy could not be saved”, they said adding “Prima-facie it seems the boy accidently slipped into the water, but the relevant agencies are ascertaining the incident from all possible angles.”

A police official concerned has in the meantime also confirmed the incident. “We will share the details as they emerge”, the official added.
