Body of Youth Retrieved From River Jhelum After Multi-Agency Search Operation

   

SRINAGAR: The body of a 25-year-old man, who had allegedly jumped into the River Jhelum at Sempora in the Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar, was recovered on Tuesday after an intensive six-day search operation involving multiple rescue agencies and local volunteers.

The deceased was identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir, a resident of Balhama, Srinagar. According to officials, he had reportedly jumped into the River Jhelum on July 23, triggering a large-scale search operation.

The search was carried out jointly by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Quick Response Team (QRT), Pantha Chowk, the SDRF QRT Battalion Headquarters, Srinagar, and local volunteers, who conducted extensive searches along the river over the past four days.

The body was retrieved on Tuesday, bringing the prolonged rescue operation to an end.
