A 45 years old Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Ahad resident of New Colony, Batamaloo, Srinagar was drowned in Dal Lake at Ghat No. 7, Srinagar, said a police spokesperson on Monday.
As per a statement Sheikh’s body was fished out from Dal Lake in the afternoon by river police. He was shifted to SMHS hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Srinagar Police has started an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC in this regard. The body was handed over his relatives for last rites.
