SRINAGAR: The body of a boy was seen floating in the River Jhelum in Uri before being swept across the Line of Control (LoC) on Thursday.
An official said that the body was spotted near Kaman Post along the LoC in the afternoon. “Police and rescue teams attempted to retrieve it, but due to strong currents, it drifted to the other side of the border,” he said.
The official added that the body is likely that of a boy who, along with a girl, jumped into the river on March 5 in the Dulanja area of Uri.
However, both individuals remain missing as their bodies have yet to be recovered. (GNS)
