SRINAGAR
A 10 year old boy Imran Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Gani resident of Dubgah Sopore drowned in river Jehlum at Dubgah Sopore while bathing in the river, apolice statement said on Thursday.
The body of the boy was later retrieved and handed over to his relatives for last rites, police said.
Meanwhile, two teenage boys got electrocuted while fishing in Maar Nallah in Handwara last evening. One of them died while another has been hospitalized.
15 years old Mehraj-u-Din Thakery son of Mohammad Yaqoob and 10 years old Imtiyaz Ahmed Thakery son of Mohammad Hanief resident of Nowgam Mawar received electric shock while fishing in nearby Maar Nallah at Nowgam, Handwara.
Mehraj-u- Din Thakery died on spot while as Imtiyaz Ahmed Thakery was shifted to SKIMS Soura for treatment. Handwara Police has registered a case in this regard.
