A 10-year old boy drowned in river Jehlum at Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
Reports said that a boy identified as Nazim Farooq son of Farooq Ahmed resident of Kachama Kupwara at present Chak Rodaykhan Sopore was bathing in the river when he drowned.
They said that police and locals have started searching for the boy in the Jehlum after the police was informed about the incident.
An official said that the rescue team has been sent to the area to trace the body.
