Police have arrested three brothers from North Kashmir’s Lolab Valley for kidnapping a 13 year old boy and subsequently selling him to drug dealers in Chandigarh. The fourth brother who according to police is the kingpin has been evading arrest from past two weeks.

Police sources told CNS that one Muhammad Shafi Mir a resident of Dharamwari Lolab in Kupwara district had lodged a missing report about his 13 year old son Abid Shafi at police station Lolab.

During the investigation it came to fore that Dar family from Nagrishotwari village had kidnapped and coaxed the boy and sold him to the drug dealers in Chandigarh. “I recovered my son from a hotel in Chandigarh in aberated condition. Drugs had been administered to him and even he had become the victim of sodomy,” said the father of the boy.

Station House Officer Lolab Sajad Asad said that they have arrested three brothers while fourth brother Iqbal Dar who is the kingpin is still at large. He identified the arrested culprits as Feroz Dar, Fayz Dar and Yousuf Dar. “We have booked the culprits under relevant sections 109, 363, 344, 379, 377 of RPC. We are in touch with Chandigarh police and will send a team to nab other culprits,” he said.
