The activists of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Hurriyat Conefernce led by octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday staged a protest in Srinagar against government’s “failure” to stop braid-cutting incidents. The protest was held under the banner of Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL).

Reports said that the activists participated in the protest at Abi Guzar at City Centre in Srinagar.

The protesters were holding placards with messages urging an end to braid-cutting attacks. The playcards read: “Stop Braid Chopping”, “Attacks on dignity of daughter not acceptable” and “Attacks on Kashmiri women and braid chopping is a ploy to intimidate Kashmiris”.
