Dozens of lawyers on Wednesday staged a protest in Srinagar against the continuous braid-cutting incidents across Kashmir Valley.
The lawyers gathered outside the premises of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Complex, carrying banners and placards.
They lawyers led by Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association president Mian Abdul Qayoom, also raised slogans against the government while demanding immediate end to the braid-chopping of Kashmiri women.
“Today we are protesting against the continuous braid-chopping incidents across Kashmir. We want that braid-chopping must end immediately, the fear it has created among Kashmiris must come to an end so that Kashmiri women continue their daily chores with absolute freedom,” Qayoom told reporters during the protest rally at Ghanta Ghar in Lal Chowk.
He said that the lawyers believe that whosoever loves the honour of Kashmiri women must support them and join the protest against the act.
