PDP candidate Yasir Reshi has complained to election observer that Forest Minister Mian Altaf was using his officials in polling booths including deputy commissioner Ganderbal.

“The forest minister is using his officials and they are visiting the polling booths impressing panchs and sarpanchs to vote for the coalition candidates,” PDP candidate Yasir Reshi said, adding that he has lodged a formal complaint with the election observer.

Meanwhile, Kashmir Life team visited a number of polling booths where voters were in large queues waiting for their turn.

Election officials said while polling has been brisk in some areas of Jammu, the response in Kashmir has been poor due to cold conditions early in the morning. But as the time went on, the voters in Kashmir too came out in large numbers.

A lady panch, Rafiqa in the Ganderbal district who was operated a day before and was admitted in the hospital was brought from the hospital by his neighbours  to the polling station.

“I came from hospital only to cast my vote because I know that it will help in solving our problems,” said Rafiqa.
