Police on Thursday refuted all reports appearing o social media about the death of a person from Nagbal area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
The spokesman said that in a section of social media a news item is being circulated about death of a person identified as Mohd Rafiq, son of Ghulam Mohd Parrey, a resident of Nagbal, Ganderbal, who according to police was sustained injuries in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
The spokesman added that Misinformation has been disseminated by some “miscreant” to create law and order problem, however, it is clarified that said person is alive and undergoing treatment at SKIMS, Soura in Srinagar.
General public is requested not to pay heed to such rumours. Action will be taken against rumour mongers, police said.
