SRINAGAR: A brown bear, involved in damaging graveyards in Rajwara village of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, was captured on Saturday.

An official said that Wildlife department with the assistance of police captured the man-eater brown bear who was ransacking graveyards in Rajwara village.

He said that the bear was roaming in the residential areas for the last few days, posing danger to people’s lives and their livestock, besides having damaged graveyards in Rajpora, Shatigam and adjacent areas.

Soon after getting information cages were set up at multiple locations and after hectic efforts the bear was captured,” he said. (KNO)
