Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday issued a statement regarding Budgam attack said that the militants attempted to force their entry inside a Guard post at Budgam.
“Militants appeared outside the Guard Post in Wardwan Budgam and held-up SgCt Shamim Ahmad outside his Guard Post who was unarmed and was going to offer Friday prayers at a local mosque in the vicinity,” the spokesman said.
Shamim was asked to lead toward the Guard Post however he raised an alarm and the alert jawans inside the Guard Post successfully foiled it, the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that in the process the said official was injured who consequently succumbed to his injury. Slain Police man Sgct Shamim Ahmad No 834 Bd (EXK 981992) is a resident of Check Hanjan Yaripora Kulgam.
Police has registered a case in this connection.
