Budgam records lowest voter turnout till noon during VII-Phase of Panchayat elections


Amid a shutdown call in poll-bound areas by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL), voting for the seventh phase across Kashmir started on Tuesday morning at 8:00 am, the Budgam district in central Kashmir’s recorded the lowest voter turnout of 9% in Kashmir valley till noon.

Till this afternoon, Kupwara district in north Kashmir recorded the highest voter turnout of 34%.

In north Kashmir’s Kupwara district 34% votes were cast, 17.1% in Bandipora, 12% in Baramulla, 18.1% in Ganderbal, 9% in Budgam, 13.8% in Islamabad district, 57.9% in Ramban, 61.4% in Reasi, 64.2% in Samba, 63.1% in Jammu, 64% in Rajouri, and 72% in Poonch.
