The resident of Mamath area in Budgam district are protesting against the local administration and traffic department outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Budgam.
On Friday morning they blocked the road outside DC’s office.
One of the protester informed Kashmir Life, “A steel bridge which was on a culvert in our area collapsed when a loaded truck crossed it. The bridge could not bear the load.”
Another protestor said, “If the bridge was not for heavy vehicles then why government did not ever intervened to stop them. This bridge was our lifeline to remain connected with the main district.”
However, no fatality or injury was reported after the bridge collapsed.
