As soon as the J&K Finance Minister Economist Dr Haseeb A Drabu stood to present his second budget for the state, opposition lawmakers stood up from their seats and demanded Handwara killings enquiry report.
Led by Langate lawmaker, Er Rasheed, sloganeering opposition lawmakers included those of National Conference.
“Get the enquiry report of Handwara killings,” the opposition lawmakers demanded. Rasheed walked in to the Well forcing Parliamentary Affairs Minister, A R Veeri to intervene.
“In my parliamentary career, I have never seen ruckus during budget speech. Opposition has always silently listened to it but today it is unfortunate,” Veeri told the house.
National Conference lawmakers didn’t relent and later staged Walk Out. Afterwards, as Dr Drabu resumed his budget speech, Rasheed was marshalled out of the house.
“Araam say nikaalo,” Rasheed told the Marshalls.
The budget speech is going on.
