SRINAGAR: The annual Shri Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra began from Jammu on Monday as Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas amid tight security arrangements.
Sinha extended his greetings to the pilgrims and wished them a safe and spiritually fulfilling journey to the revered shrine in Poonch district.
“The sacred journey to Baba Budha Amarnath’s abode is a deeply enlightening experience. I firmly believe this pilgrimage brings profound transformation and reveals life’s deepest truths to every devotee,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He appreciated the Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, VHP and Bajrang Dal, local authorities, langar organisations and civil society groups for coordinating arrangements for the pilgrimage and the Budha Amarnath Ji Mela.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by spiritual leaders, religious heads, public representatives, senior civil and police officers, security officials, prominent citizens and devotees.
The annual pilgrimage to the ancient shrine in Poonch is being conducted with arrangements put in place for the visiting devotees.
