SRINAGAR: Police in Jourian cracked a buffalo theft case, arresting the accused and recovering the stolen bovines within hours of the incident.
Police spokesperson in a statement said, In a swift and effective operation, Police Post Jourian apprehended a buffalo thief and successfully recovered stolen bovines within hours of the crime.
The accused has been identified as Murad Ali, son of Gulab Din, resident of Aijal Malal, who was wanted in connection with FIR No. 164/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS, registered on September 6,2025, it reads.
Police investigations revealed that the accused was involved in the theft of two buffaloes on September 6. Acting promptly on the case, the Jourian Police team arrested the accused and ensured the safe recovery of the stolen bovines, it reads.
The quick action by the police drew widespread appreciation from local residents, who lauded the force for their efficiency, dedication, and commitment towards maintaining peace and security in the area, reads the statement.
