The Pratap Park is all set to go through a phase of refurbishment that will see the iconic park being re-done along an elaborate beautification plan.
The work has been commissioned by the floriculture department to the Godfrey Phillips India Ltd working in collaboration with Help Foundation with an aim to improve the post-flood infrastructure around the city.
The park infrastructure development will reportedly include installation of integrated seating, fencing, edge plantation and much more. The HELP Foundation which is an implementing agency for the project will also improve and refurbish the iconic fountain plaza and umbrella gazebos that have been a refreshment destination for commuters, college-goers and visitors for ages.
“We are doing this work to beautify the infrastructure around the park,” said Aashiq Ali, Director, HELP Foundation. “We are also going to install a sub-surface drainage system that will end all the water-logging problems that park faced till now.”
HELP Foundation and Godfrey Phillips will reportedly work on the park for two to three years before handing it back to Floriculture department.
“We will also devise a plan for the upkeep of the park along with carrying out other activities like micro-irrigation that will save water and fertilizer,” he said.
