The bullet-ridden body of Umar Fayaz Parray, working as a lieutenant in army, was found in Harmain area of Shopian Wednesday morning.
Local sources told Kashmir Life that Umar, a resident of Yaripora village in Kulgam had gone to Batpora village of the district to attend a marriage function.
On Tuesday unidentified masked gunmen picked him from the venue of the marriage ceremony to an unknown location.
Today his bullet-ridden body was found in Harmain area of Shopian district.
Umar was working with Rajputna Rifles of the Indian army and was posted in Akhnoor.
Meanwhile, police has filed a case into the incident and investigations have been taken up.
