Describing the killing of a youth by men in uniform in Nawa Kadal area of Srinagar and widespread arrest of youth as worst example of state-terrorism, Ameer-i-Jama’at Mohammad Adullah Wani Friday said that such repressive measures cannot bring peace but only aggravate the hurt sentiments and emotions of people.

Ameer-i-Jama’at, who was addressing a congregation before Friday prayers here at Masjid Al-Huda, Batamaloo, said that Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir vehemently condemns the killing of an innocent youth by forces in Nawa Kadal Srinagar and arrest spree unleashed by forces across the state before the so-called elections.

Ameer-i-Jama’at said that such draconian actions are not acceptable in any law.

He said that bullets and arrests cannot bring peace. Only resolution of Kashmir dispute can ensure peace in the state and in the region, he said.

He stressed on the early resolution of Kashmir dispute according to the aspirations of people of Kashmir and said that only that can prevent further bloodshed in the state.
