SRINAGAR: In a suspected burglary attempt, unidentified individuals broke into a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM at Goal Chakri in South Kashmir’s Shopian district during the night.
A senior police official said that the burglars managed to break open the shutter of the ATM and attempted to steal the cash stored inside; however, the attempt was unsuccessful.
He said a police team rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.
A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved. CCTV footage is being examined, he added. (JKNS)
