Parts of Bhadarwah district of Chenab valley on Sunday observed a complete shutdown on the second death anniversary of Hizb commander Burhan Wani.

Reports said that shops and other business establishments remained closed in the district.

The shutdown call was issued by Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhaderwah to support the shutdown call issued by joint Hurriyat on the death anniversary of the militant commander Burhan Wani.

“We observed a shutdown to show our solidarity with the people of Kashmir and also appeal the government to stop killings in Kashmir,” said President Anjuman-e-Islamia Bhadarwah Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.

Reports said that shutdown was also observed in Kishtwar and Banihal on the first death anniversary of Burhan Wani.
