Srinagar

Authorities on Sunday suspended the mobile Internet service in south Kashmir districts in view of the third death anniversary of Burhan Wani.

The services have been snapped in Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam and Anantnag districts of south Kashmir early Sunday morning.

An official said the service was barred as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.

Burhan Wani and his two associates were killed in a gun battle with counter insurgent forces in Bemdoora village of Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on July 8, 2016. His killing triggered massive unrest in the valley.
