#Burhan Backlash: ‘At Least Six Injured After Forces Open Fire in Islamabad Parts’

SRINAGAR

At least six civilians were injured after forces opened fired at protesters in Hillad and Peer Takiya villages of Kokernag area and Mattan in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Sunday.

A senior Correspondent from Islamabad reported that youth held protests against the killing of militant commander, Burhan Wani.

The five civilians who were injured by bullets in Kokernag have been identified as Mudassir R/O Hillar, Basharat Parray R/O Peertaki, Mudasir Parray R/O Peertaki, Abdul Majid R/O Bamdoora and Nadeem Sheikh R/O Peertaki.

One of the five injured have been referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment, rest have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The protesters defied curfew and staged demonstrations in Mattan to protest the killing of Burhan Wani.

Reports said that forces used live bullets to break up the demonstrations. The youth who sustained bullet injuries was shifted to District Hospital Islamabad for treatment.
