Chenab valley is observing complete shutdown on Monday against the killing of militant commander, Burhan Wani.

Burhan Wani led a seventeen member group of militants, and rose to fame due to his social networking skills, died along with his two associates on Friday evening at Kokernag in South Kashmir.

Kashmir is observing shutdown since Saturday while at least sixteen civilians have been killed by forces during protests and over 200 persons were injured when hit by bullets, pellets and tear gas shells.

Given the situation in Kashmir valley, various leaders have called for strike on Monday and funeral prayers-in-absentia will be held after Zuhr prayers today.

Imam Jamia Masjid, Farooq Kichloo; Ab Qayoom Matto and Imam Bunastan Masjid, Manzoor Ahmad jointly called for strike on Monday across Chenab valley.
