People from across the Valley continue to throng the residence of militant commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani on Tuesday to express solidarity with the bereaved family.

Witnesses told KNS, people from all walks of life thronged Burhan’s residence where they paid tributes to slain militant who rose to fame due to his social networking abilities.

People in large number on bikes, private vehicles, load carriers and other transport reached to Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district while carrying banners and flags in their hands.

“The visiting people also marched towards Eidgah to mark a protest and chanted pro-freedom and anti-India slogans,” they said.

Witnesses said that inhabitants have installed Langers outside the residence of Burhan Wani for the people who are visiting Burhan’s residence.

Meanwhile, witnesses said that clashes were also erupted between youth and forces in Tral, adding that police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the agitating youth.

Most popular commander, Burhan Muzaffar Wani along with his two associates were killed in an encounter that raged between forces and militants in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Friday.

The body of the slain militant commander was handed over to the family on Friday-Saturday night for the last rites.

At least 33 youth were killed during protests between youth and forces in Kashmir following the killing of Wani.

Nonetheless, there was no official confirmation about the death toll of the youth killed in ongoing cycle of violence in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, reports reaching here said that several youth of the area snatched official uniform from a few cops in Bat Nag area. “The police uniform was set ablaze by the youth later,” the sources said.
