Following the killing of 33 civilians in Kashmir, government clamp down on communication network continues on day four.

The killing of militant commander, Burhan Wani along with his two associates, in South Kashmir’s Kokernag area on last Friday evening snowballed in to crisis with people taking to streets raising pro-freedom slogans.

Government clamped down on communications system banning mobile internet services across state; snapping phone network in South Kashmir and suspending train services across Kashmir valley.

Tensions were severe in South Kashmir wherefrom major casualties were reported.

Separatists called for shutdown up to July 13 coinciding with Martyrs Day.

In apparent reference to Hurriyat leadership, government has been appealing “all shades of opinion” to help restore normalcy. However, top resistance leadership remains caged either in their homes or police stations.
