#Burhan Killing: Examinations Rescheduled

PostponedFollowing the death of poster boy of “new age” militancy, various agencies in Kashmir have rescheduled examinations with immediate effect.

Kashmir is observing a complete shutdown on Saturday while eight civilians have been killed while dozens have been injured with at least 35 youth receiving bullet injuries and admitted in SMHS Srinagar.

J&K Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on Saturday postponed the exam for the post of Medical Officer and Medical Officer Ayurvedic which was scheduled to be held on Sunday (tomorrow).

The Central University of Kashmir postponed its exams and said that it will issue a new notice for the same.

The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) Awantipora issued a statement cancelling the Group Discussion and Personal Interviews of candidates for admissions to MBA.

J&K BOSE had already postponed the eleventh class exams which were scheduled for today.

The UGC authorities have also deferred NET scheduled to be held on Sunday (July 10) in Srinagar. It has cited “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason for the deferment of exam.

JKBOPEE, the J&K nodal agency for holding exams to professional colleges, also postponed counselling for 3-year Diploma Polytechnic Engineering. The counselling was scheduled on 10th and 11th July.

In all cases, the authorities have said that they shall be issuing a renewed date sheet for these exams.

Meanwhile, a trade body – Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) – has postponed the Extra ordinary General Body Meeting which was scheduled to be held on 11th July 2016.

On the other hand, a rights group JKCCS, had planned its annual talk on Sunday at 3:30 PM but it has deferred it and said, “we will notify a new date later.”
