Terming Hizb Commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani, as the pride of Kashmir and the founder of new age resistance, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has paid rich and glowing tributes to all those killed in 2016 uprising.

JKDFP in a statement remembered and paid glowing tributes to the slain militant commander, Burhan Wani, on eve of his second death anniversary.

Burhan was killed on July 8, at Bumdoora village of Kokernag in Islamabad district of south Kashmir. Burhan’s killing had triggered a mass uprising in Kashmir and around 120 civilians were killed. Thousands of youth were injured during protests across Kashmir.

The JKDFP spokesperson said that “Burhan Wani is yet another golden page of the history of the ongoing freedom movement who will always be remembered as the pride and honour of Kashmir as he  successfully represented the sentiments of the youth of Kashmir.”

“Burhan was an appealing young leader who founded the new age resistance. He will always be remembered as all other persons who lived for a cause and laid down their lives for it. Burhan has become the icon of our youngsters,” the spokesman in a statement said.

The JKDFP spokesperson denounced the Home Minister, Rajnath Singh’s recent statement about Kashmir and said that Kashmir is neither an issue of development nor administration nor it could be resolved through military might. He said that the Kashmir dispute pertained to the future of millions of Kashmiris and it could only be resolved by giving them their inalienable right to ‘self-determination’.
