One person was killed and three others suffered injuries after a fierce fight between two groups over a business rivalry in Narwal area of Jammu division in Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that a group allegedly attacked Ranjeet Singh with sharp-edged weapon today morning in Yard Number 2 at Transport Nagar, Narwal.

After this, Singh fired few rounds from his licensed pistol, resulting in injuries to three persons, including a passerby.

One of the alleged attackers, identified as Charanjit Singh, resident of Bandhu Rakh, sustained bullet injury and later succumbed at a hospital, said an official.

The other three injured were identified as accused Ranjit Singh, Navneet Singh and a motorcyclist Pankaj Kumar, who was passing by through the area.

The official said that the incident took place because of an old business rivalry over the insurance payment.

“The injured have been rushed to the hospital,” he said.

“Main accused Ranjeet Singh has been arrested along with the weapon used to commit crime. Investigation is going on,” said the official.
