A day after the attack in Lethpora Awantipora in which 45 CRPF troopers were killed and dozens sustained injuries, a meeting of the PM Modi-led Cabinet Committee on Security was held at PM house to take a call on the next course of action and look at options.

On Friday morning, the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, NSA Ajit Doval & Finance Minister Arun Jaitley have arrived 7, Lok Kalyan Marg (formerly 7, Race Course Road) the official residence and principal workplace of the Prime Minister, for the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, media reports suggested.

Earlier, in the deadliest attack on forces in Jammu and Kashmir, forty-five paramilitary CRPF men were killed while 38 others were injured after a “suicide car bomber” rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the bus near Lethpora at around 03:15 pm, resulting into an intensive blast in which 45 paramilitary personnel were killed.
