SRINAGAR: Eidgah MLA Mubarak Gul will announce his next move next week after being left out of the Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet during Tuesday’s expansion.
When contacted, Gul said he would make a decision in a week. “For now, I wouldn’t say anything about it,” he said.
Earlier, Gul’s supporters staged a protest after he was not allotted a Cabinet berth during the expansion.
His supporters are reportedly pressuring him to resign. “For the last 40 years, we have been helping this party win from the Eidgah constituency. If our leader, Mubarak Gul, is not given a ministerial berth even now, then when will he be?” they reportedly asked.
Gul was appointed general secretary of the National Conference after he was not inducted into the Cabinet. However, sources close to him said he had not yet accepted the post. (GNS)
