Cabinet Fails To Evolve Consensus On Police Reshuffle

The state cabinet which met under the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Jammu early Wednesday could not evolve a consensus on postings of SSP’s in various districts after which the decision was deferred till the next meeting. Cabinet is expected to meet once durbar is in Srinagar.

“Differences arose during the meeting so Chief Minister suggested consulting the Director General of Police again before approving the transfers,” sources told Kashmir Life.

They added that transfers in police at the level of SSP’s and SP’s were to be taken in today’s cabinet meeting but there were serious differences among various members. The sources further said that some members even started pointing fingers on each other during the meeting.
