Police Wednesday arrested the supplies officer of public distribution department (CAPD) after he was found involved in embezzlement of rations worth Rs lakhs meant for the public in Bhalessa belt of Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, reports said.
Supplies Officer Gandoh, Suresh Kumar was arrested in a case of embezzlement registered at Police station Gandoh for his involvement was established after a prolonged investigation, police sources said.
They said that some more arrests were expected within a couple of days.
The accused was summoned by police several times but he did not cooperate and was absconding since last couple of months, sources said.
