The government forces launched a cordon and search operation in Check-Kamad village of southern Kashmir’s Islamabad district this afternoon.
Troops of 19 Rashtriya Rifles of Army, 40 battalion of Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) and SOG of J and K Police jointly cordoned the village and launched door-to-door search operation, police said.
Heavy concentration of the forces was witnessed in the area and all the routes leading to Kamad had been sealed, following specific information about the presence of militants in the village.
Locals told Kashmir Wire that search operation is going on at Lalan Ganoor, Monghall and Kamad Check areas of district Islamabad.
