Forces on Wednesday morning laid a siege to Salkoote village in north Kashmir ’s district Kupwara.
Reports said that a joint team of army, Special Operations Group (SOG) of Police and CRPF has launched the operation in the area and has started door to door searches in the area.
An official said a cordon was laid in early hours and house-to-house searches were conducted after inputs about the presence of militants in the village.
“However, nothing was found during the searches and CASO was ended peacefully after several hours,” he said.
